Introduction
Tianjin University, established in 1895 with the name of Peiyang University, is the oldest institution of higher education in the modern history of China. At present, Tianjin University has grown into a National Key University directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of China. Tianjin University started to offer management courses in 1978 and established its School of Management in 1984 which was one of the earliest universities to establish the School of Management authorized by the Ministry of Education of China. In order to further stimulate the innovation vitality of primary academic units and enhance the comprehensive strength and core competitiveness of management and economics disciplines, in 2009, Tianjin University took the lead in trying out administrative reform in management and economics disciplines and restructured its departments and institutions. The College of Management and Economics (CoME) was set up as a broad and new platform for management and economics disciplines to develop and grow.
CoME now contains three level one disciplines in Management: Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration and Public Administration; one level one discipline in Economics: Applied Economics; one level two discipline in Engineering: Systems Engineering. In the fourth round of National Disciplines Evaluation by the Ministry of Education, Management Science and Engineering was rated as A, and Business Administration and Public Administration was rated as B+. In the first National Professional Degree Evaluation, TJU MBA program was rated as A, and MPA program was rated as B+.
CoME of Tianjin University officially passed the AACSB international certification, with a certification period of 5 years. TJU is the first university in China to simultaneously submit MBA, EMBA and MPA programs and all of them were accredited by AMBA of five-year certificate. CoME has actively joined AACSB and obtained the five-year certificate of Advanced MBA Education in China (CAMEA).
CoME has 178 full-time faculty, including 55 professors (inclusive of 8 chair professors and 13 talent professors), 96 associate professors (inclusive of 6 talent associate professors), and 27 assistant professors. Among them, there are 8 National Leading Talents, 7 National Youth Talents, and 7 awarded with Award of Baogang Outstanding Teacher.

Ø Talented Professor
1.With high-level teaching capability and landmark achievements. Pay attention to the cultivation of high-quality and innovative talents. Improve personal education and teaching capability and the quality of talent cultivation. Undertake work of teaching basic courses or major-related core courses as backbone teachers in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and other aspects of talent cultivation.
2. Have an independent research direction in line with the development of the discipline and the ability to lead the development of world-class disciplines.
3. Play an important role in disciplinary construction, base construction and talent introduction, and in promoting extensive cooperation with other internationally renowned universities and research institutions.
Ø Associate Talented Professor
1. Have rich experience in education and teaching and outstanding achievements in improving the quality of education and teaching. Undertake work of teaching disciplinary basic courses or major-related core courses as backbone teachers in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and other aspects of talent cultivation.
2. Be engaged in high-level scientific research in line with the development needs of the discipline. Have outstanding performance in related fields at home and abroad and being recognized by peer experts.
3. Play a certain role in disciplinary construction, base construction and talent introduction and actively promote extensive cooperation with world-famous universities and research institutions.
Ø Associate Professor
1.The research direction should be in line with the development needs of the discipline. Have certain academic achievements in the research field and considerable academic potential.
2. Actively participate in disciplinary construction, high-level international academic conferences in relevant fields and other forms of international academic exchange activities, and have active commitment and participation in national and provincial science and technology projects.
3. Associate professors should also have good experience in education and teaching and have made some achievements in improving the quality of education and teaching. As backbone teachers in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and other aspects of talent cultivation, they should undertake work of teaching basic courses or major-related core courses.
Ø Assistant Professor
The research direction should be in line with the development needs of the College of Management and Economics and relevant disciplines. Assistant Professors are supposed to attach importance to both teaching and scientific research.
