Along with China’s urbanization, the transformation of urban and rural planning has been triggered by the reform of planning system, the application of new technologies and the integration of multiple disciplines. Facing the new normal epidemic situation in 2020, urban and rural planning is responding actively and pursuing innovations.
Correspondingly, the School of Architecture, Tianjin University will hold a Master Forum, and invite four UK academicians from the Royal Academy of Sciences, The Royal Academy of Engineering, the British Academy of Sciences and the British Academy of Social Sciences to give cutting-edge lectures and inspiring discussions.

Fellow of the Royal Academy of Sciences (FRS), Fellow of the British Academy of Sciences (FBA), Professor of The Bartlett School of Architecture, professor of Bartlett School of Architecture in University College London, and Chairman of the Centre for Advanced Space Analysis (CASA). He has been awarded a CBE. His research interests include urban big data, urban analysis, urban computer modeling, urban science and other frontier fields. Prof. Jian Kang
Academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), Professor of University College London (UCL), Honorary Dean of School of Architecture, Tianjin University, and Chair Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars of the Ministry of Education. His main research area is architectural and environmental acoustics, and his papers have been cited the first in the world in this discipline.
Presided over more than 80 research projects and published more than 800 articles. He has won the European Outstanding Senior Scientist Foundation Award, Cornell Award, Tyndall Award and other honors.

Prof. Cecilia Wong
Fellow of the British Academy of Social Sciences, Professor of Space Planning, City College, University of Manchester, Director of The Laboratory for Space Policy and Analysis, Member of the Royal Planning Society, and Chair of the Building, Environment and Planning Group of the 2021 UK Framework for Excellence in Research. Her research interests include strategic spatial planning, policy monitoring and analysis, urban and regional development, housing and infrastructure planning. She is currently a member of an independent advisory panel on the Evaluation of Local Growth Interventions Framework for UK city-regions and a commissioner of the UK2070 Commission on Regional Inequalities.

Chief scientist and director of the Joint Research Centre for Sustainable, Healthy, Learning Cities and Communities at the UK Department for Research and Innovation. Research areas include urban housing policy and institutional reform, urbanization and urban development, population mobility and its impact on the urban housing market and demand.
