TJU University-Hospital Consortium Founded

On December 9, the Tianjin University University-Hospital Consortium was founded between Tianjin University, two medical colleges and seven hospitals in Tianjin. During the founding ceremony, Tianjin University signed comprehensive cooperation agreements with five hospitals, according to which all five hospitals were unveiled as affiliated hospitals of TJU. Up to now, Tianjin University has owned six affiliated hospitals.

The University-Hospital Consortium of Tianjin University consists of Tianjin University, Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin First Central Hospital, “Tianjin Hospital, Tianjin University”,Tianjin Haihe Hospital, Tianjin Children’s Hospital, Tianjin Huanhu Hospital, Tianjin Chest Hospital, and the Tianjin Hospital of ITCWM Nankai Hospital.

The Consortium aims to strengthen the coordination of medical science and education and to fully develop the university’s and hospitals’ advantages. Focusing on disciplinary construction and medical resources, TJU has taken a solid step to reform its medical education and the cultivation of medical talent, so as to contribute to the comprehensive competitiveness in medical education and clinical research of Tianjin and even the whole of China.

TJU plans to carry out comprehensive pragmatic cooperation with the five hospitals in intelligent medicine and health care big data. In talent cultivation, TJU will employ excellent doctors to mentor postgraduates and allocate positions for doctoral and master students to cooperate with hospitals. Medical talents will be cultivated with the help of advanced educational resources, high-end professional training and other forms of educational services. As for scientific research, TJU will assist the hospitals in creating working positions for post doctors and academicians, as well as contributing to the Cloud Brain Center of National Health and the Medical Big Data Pilot Project and the Tianjin Brain Science Center. In information management, TJU is preparing to share its academic resources with the hospitals.
