Recently, Tianjin University President Zhong Denghua met with Liu Hui, head of Tianjin Jinnan District and a delegation of Jinnan District government officials.

Tianjin University has reached a consensus with Tianjin Jinnan District on the co-construction of “Tianjin Intelligent Valley”, an intelligent industrial park. Liu Hui outlined the construction process. She hoped that with Tianjin University’s strengths in science and technology, an “intelligence kernel” could be built. Additionally, the Tianjin University National Intelligent Research Institute could be established to focus on the development of a new generation of information technology and equipment, high-and-new-tech achievement transformation and business services. The joint efforts of the government, universities and enterprises, could further implement the Beijing-Tianjin- Hebei regional coordinated development strategy, and gather together high-end enterprises, projects and talents.

President Zhong pointed out that the construction of “Tianjin Intelligent Valley” is of great significance and of far-reaching influence. Tianjin University has a good foundation in artificial intelligence related research and has advantages in fields such as computer, electronic information, automation, and intelligent machine manufacturing. He stated that colleges and universities, gathering together young people, were the cradles of innovative ideas. Tianjin University will work with Tianjin Jinnan District to give full play to the engineering strengths of Tianjin University and to accelerate the planning of the intelligent industrial park through continuous deliberation and careful planning.
