Intelligence and Information Service Research Center Established

Recently, the Intelligence and Information Service Research Center was unveiled. The Center was jointly set up by Tianjin University and the Beijing Institute of Space Science and Technology Information (No.512 Institute of CAST). The unveiling ceremony was held on the Peiyang Park Campus of Tianjin University (TJU).

Tianjin University President Zhong Denghua congratulated them on the establishment of the Center and proposed requirements and suggested goals for it. He said the Center would enhance the cooperation between TJU and the Institute in the fields of information system construction, smart wearable devices, research and development of application software in the information industry, UAV system development and applications, applications for aerial survey, data transformation of intellectual property and promotion of productivity. Yuan Minhui, Director of the Institute, stated that the establishment of the Center was a win-win cooperation venture and would boost the development of China’s aerospace industry.

Based on the 2012 Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed between TJU and China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), the Center was established and would deepen industry-university-research cooperation. With the new system and platform, the Center would give full play to both sides’ strengths in technology, talent and research development The Center would develop into a disciplinary development center, research achievement transformation center and industrial incubation center.

TJU and its students will also benefit from the cooperation. The Center will provide Tianjin University with a research platform in aerospace intelligence and information creation. Additionally, it will provide the students with a basic platform to further scientific research and increase their practical ability. Moreover, the Center will determine through discussion, the research and development of disciplines and projects, offering the opportunity for the students to participate.
