Egyptian Ph.D. Candidate Teaching the Song of Peiyang University

 Campus

“Prosperous flower blooms, surging canal flows,” Ahmed Mohamed Yehia Osman, a third-year Ph.D. candidate from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (SPST) from Egypt, was teaching newly employed faculty members the Song of Peiyang University in Chinese, on the shuttle from Weijin Road Campus to Peiyang Park Campus, Tianjin University.

The first lesson for these newly employed faculty members was visiting the Tianjin University History Museum on Weijin Road Campus, and the Integrative Service Administration on Peiyang Park Campus, as these are part of the compulsory course of the Orientation Programs.

On the way between the two campuses, students from the Tianjin University Faculty Development Association had a Q&A activity about the history of Tianjin University. Then Osman began to teach the new faculty the Song of Peiyang University after a brief self-introduction. Within an hour, they learned this song and the culture of Tianjin University inspired them.

As a member of Tianjin University Faculty Development Association, Osman has a great passion for communicating with Chinese students. After he obtained his master’s degree in Saudi Arabia, he learned that Tianjin University was an outstanding technology university, and he decided to apply for Tianjin University. With a positive and optimistic impression of China, he came to Tianjin and began his graduate study at SPST.

“I would like to do something and contribute my passion for faculty members here,” when asked about the reasons for joining Tianjin University Faculty Development Association, Osman answered, “because I was impressed so much by their earnestness, preciseness and passion, so I joined this association. I want to help everyone acclimatize to TJU life!”, Osman added with a big smile.
