On November 20, Zhong Denghua, the President of Tianjin University，met his 10 new student assistants.

The sixth student assistant selection began in October 2016: 10 students from 6 schools were selected, including 3 doctors, 5 postgraduates and 2 undergraduates, including a foreign student from Benin.

The meeting began in a relaxed and active atmosphere. Showing great passion for the upcoming tasks, the students shared their abundant experiences in academic learning, community work and social practice, which then led to prospect for work next year based on their own individual situations.

President Zhong Denghua described his ardent expectations for the student assistants. He pointed out that Tianjin University was now in a golden, but critical development period. He said that in recent years, the University has made great breakthroughs in various aspects including talent training, scientific research, and also subject development. Recently Tianjin University gained the title of the First National Civilized Campus, which shows the contribution to constructing a humanistic environment. Aiming at building a world-class university, all the student assistants should share the same responsibilities and historical mission for the future development. The President also stressed the importance that careful attention should be paid by the student assistants to keeping the balance beween extracurricular work and academic learning for the sake of all-round development.
