Tianjin University’s Six Invention Patents Win 2017 Tianjin Patent Awards

Recently, six invention patents from Tianjin University won the 2017 Tianjin Patent Awards, topping both lists of the number of awards and the total number of gold awards in Tianjin. All of the six entries from Tianjin University won awards, with 4 of them winning gold prizes and 2 of them winning excellence prizes.

The project, Indirect Precast Concrete-filled Steel Tube Assemblies with a Combined Special-shaped Column and Production Method won the gold award. This project was invented by Chen Zhihua, Zhou Ting, Wang Xiaodun, Liu Hongbo, and Yan Xiangyu. The patent came up with a new residential system of assembling concrete-filled steel beams by hiding the main structure in the wall, and solving the traditional problem of exposing indoor crossbeams. The system has become symbolic of concrete-filled steel assembly in China, greatly enhancing the development of our domestic building industry.

The project, A Method for Making Spherical Clopidogrel Bisulphate I, invented by Gong Junbo, Wang Qi, Wang Jingkang, Yin Qiuxiang, Hou Baohong, Song Xiaopeng, Tan Duanming, Peng Liting and Di Ziyuan, won a gold prize. The patent invented a technology for producing spherical crystals, coping with the great difficulty of using clopidogrel bisulphate with its instability and the problems of producing it when treating angiocardiopathy clinically, which broke through the constraints of the original research patent. The product has been adopted by over 10,000 hospitals, entering the main markets of 12 countries of the EU, and providing domestic medicine core techniques for the internationalization of pharmaceutics.

The gold-prize-winning project, A Polarization Sensitive Distributive Optical Frequency Domain Reflection Disturbance Sensor and Demodulation Method was invented by Liu Tiegen, Liu Kun, Ding Zhenyang, Jiang Junfeng and Li Dingjie. The patent introduced a brand-new technology of a distributive optical disturbance sensor to detect illegal intrusions, efficiently tackling the problems of modern technology such as detecting a single event at a time where the sensing range is not satisfied and making a great contribution to safety monitoring such as in city safety.

The patent, Equipment and a Method for Separating N-hexane, Iso-hexane and Benzene by Zhang Minhua, Yu Yingzhe, Geng Zhongfeng, Ma Jing, Li Yonghui and Dong Xiuqin also won a gold prize. The patent came up with a manufacturing method of exploiting and reforming raffinate and topping oil, significantly contributing to the utilizing value of mixed light hydrocarbon and the process of upgrading and transforming traditional technology.

The two projects that won excellence prizes were, A Method and a Device for Refining Methanol Synthetic Oil by Li Xingang, Wang Lei, Luo Mingfang, Zeng Wen, Li Hong, Sui Hong, Wang Baoyan, Ding Hui, Ding Wusong, Zhang Yanhua, Zhang Minge, and Sun Yuzhen, and, A Method and Device for Simultaneously Monitoring Flue Gas Particles and Polluted Gases on Line by Du Zhenhui, Chen Wenliang and Xu Kexin.

Methanol Synthetic Oil Refining Methods and Equipment came up with a method and device for refining methanol synthetic oil, successfully solving one of the refining problems of the coal chemical industry, petrochemical industry, in turning methanol into oil. It has made a great contribution to remitting the energy crises, decreasing conflicts causing environmental damage, transforming patterns of consumption and advancing the development of the coal chemical industry.

Online Synchronous Monitoring Apparatus and Method for Smoke Particulates and Contaminated Gas is based on promoting devices and methods for particulate matter and polluted air differential absorption techniques, solving the technical problems of using the same light path to monitor polluted air condition and particulate matter online. It has made a great contribution to implementing environmental responsibilities for industrial pollution, ensuring the national policy of air condition pollution can be efficiently carried out and purifying the living environment for human beings.

The Tianjin Patent Awards gave out 10 gold awards in total.
