A Tianjin University Delegation Visits NUS

On November 24, 2017, Tianjin University President, Zhong Denghua led a delegation to visit the National University of Singapore (NUS). Both universities renewed their Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.

Professor Tan Eng Chye, President Designate, Deputy President and Provost, and Professor Andrew Wee, Vice President of NUS met with the TJU delegation. Professor Tan Eng Chye reviewed the cooperation with TJU over the past few years, especially the student exchange project and doctoral student joint-training project in the fields of chemistry and architecture. President Zhong Denghua congratulated Tan Eng Chye on his election as the 5th president of NUS and introduced TJU’s progress on disciplinary construction, scientific research and international cooperation. The two sides exchanged ideas on talent training in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data and chemistry and enhanced scientific research cooperation. Moreover, they reached a consensus on student joint-training. During the talks, they also discussed in depth the impact of the 4th industrial revolution on universities and student training in future.

Both sides hoped to promote further student exchange as soon as possible, and strengthen substantive cooperation. They also encouraged teachers of the both universities to conduct in-depth research cooperation and jointly publish influential papers.
