On December 12, Tianjin University and the New Oriental Education & Technology Group signed a cooperation agreement on talent training and an internships base was inaugurated on Peiyang Park Campus.

During the inauguration ceremony, Lei Ming, the Deputy Party Secretary of Tianjin University commented that New Oriental had actively undertaken its social responsibility while developing its business, and had made a great contribution to the community, especially in education, by forming a series of influential brands, such as Inspirational Lecture and Study Plans Lecture series for middle school students and university students. It is expected that the two sides will give full play to their respective strengths to mutually deepen cooperation in various fields, such as in educational reform, social practice, students' innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as students’ comprehensive abilities and professional skills.
