Opening Ceremony of TJU’s High-end Education Training Base in Haikou and Home of Hainan Alumni

Recently, the opening ceremony of TJU’s High-end Education Training Base in Haikou and the Home of Hainan Alumni was held in Hainan and hosted by Huang Peng, a Tianjin University alumnus of Port and Waterway Engineering. Li Jiajun, Party Secretary of TJU, Xu Zili, Chairman of the Hainan Alumni Association, Wang Chengqing, TJU alumnus and Party Secretary of the Hainan College of Vocation and Technique, and Wang Anxing, TJU alumnus and President of the Hainan College of Vocation and Technique attended the ceremony, among over sixty guests. 

During the ceremony, Li Jiajun pointed out that constructing a world-class University requires not only the efforts of all the students and professors, but also the alumni. He was confident that with their joint efforts, the development goals of TJU would be reached.

Xu Zili said that Hainan Alumni Association is playing an increasingly important role in the connection of the alumni in Hainan Province and the Association would continue to support the development of TJU and make a greater contribution to it becoming a world-class University.

Wang Anxing reported on the Training Base, which is being co-constructed by TJU and Hainan College of Vocation and Technique. With the resources of the two sides, they aim to build an influential nationwide demonstration base for Science and Education combined with a Cooperative Education Action Plan. Based on TJU’s traditional preponderant disciplines and emerging interdisciplines, there were already more than 400 courses divided into six categories: teaching, government affairs, business, safety and health, international education, and online education, covering education, politics, the economy, and healthcare.
