Recently, the 23rd “Ten-Best Outstanding Youth Selection (Students)”, sponsored by Tianjin University Committee and hosted by the Youth League Committee of the Student Association, was held in Qiushi Hall at Peiyang Park Campus.

The expert judges of the activity were comprised of 21 deans and leaders of TJU, including Zhong Denghua the President of TJU. After nearly 3 hours competition, 10 students among 16 candidates were selected as the ten-best outstanding youths for 2017. They are Yu Wenhui, Sui Haonan, Qi Yifan, Fang Zheli, Cheng Hongfa, Chen Hongxu, Zhang Runnan, Li Kai, Zhao Fei and Ma Tao.

Various students and professors attended the Outstanding Youth Selection to support the outstanding candidates. The audience could select ten candidates from the 16 and named them on a special ticket, and when all the presentations were completed, tickets were collected from the students and the expert judges. After counting the votes, the result was immediately announced.

Tan Zhiyuan, the secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Student Association, said “though this was the third time that I have taken part in the activity, this is the first time that I have participated in almost every part of it, which has allowed me to observe my self-improvement”. Before the final competition, preparation events took place such as publicity shoots. “I was greatly impressed by the professionalism of the faculty Qin Junnan and his fellow photographers from Peiyang Movie Club” said Zhao Fei, one of the ten-best outstanding youths.

All the students and teachers of the Student Association’s Youth League Committee contributed endless efforts to the activity. Zhao Yu, adviser of the organization: “We have organized this activity for many years and have made it a branding activity, therefore our students planning is highly professional. They clearly spent a lot of time and energy to put on a fantastic activity and we all appreciate their efforts.”

“I have felt and gained a lot from this activity. First of all, I’d like to thank the university for offering me such a stage and opportunity to present myself, and I would like to express my appreciation for TJU’s cultivation of myself and so many outstanding students. It is my great honor to make friends with so many excellent people, each of them possessing merits which I can learn from and improve myself. In addition, I would like to thank the Youth League Committee of the Student Association. Their planning was flawless from every aspect, they completed the schedule step by step and assisted candidates patiently and with clear direction.” said Zhao Fei.
