The 13th National Games of China will open in Tianjin on August 27 and conclude on September 8, 2017. Over one thousand faculty and student volunteers from Tianjin University will attend the performance and be involved in the preparations for the opening ceremony of the Games.

Recently, to meet the volunteers' demands of daily life on  Peiyang Campus during their preparations for their attending the event, the University provided the students with a “summer gift bag”.

On June 24, students received the first “summer gift bag”, containing mosquito repellent, flower dew and sunscreen cream, among other things. Student Yan Yumei from the School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering said happily, “I feel pretty lucky to be able to attend such a grand event.”

Besides the handy articles, the University also offered an allowance for phone calls and living expenses as well as clothing. All the attendees will receive a “Certificate of Participation in the Opening Ceremony of the 13th National Games of China”. Facilities of the venues including the library, gyms, indoor swimming pool, and the cinema on campus will also remain open during the summer vacation. Moreover, the University will also conduct various activities in extra-curriculum teaching, culture and recreation during this period, including German language learning, the game of go, vocal music, keyboard instruction, the reading club, and a choral festival.
