Tianjin University People Involved in the Belt and Road Initiative: Gathering at Sri Lanka

Han Yulong, Graduate of Class 2012. Deputy Manager of the Western Project Department of China Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd, Sri Lanka.

Cui Yang, Postgraduate of Class 2016. Employee of the Marketing Department of Colombo Port Co., Ltd. He took part in the Colombo Port City Project.

Gao Ning, Graduate of Class 2015. Employee of the Merchant Bureau Harbors Corporation.

Han Yulong, Cui Yang, and Gao Ning, three TJUers from the major of Engineering Management have gathered in Sri Lanka. The company Han Yulong works for have undertaking several projects closely related to the Belt and Road Initiative. Among them, the Hanchang Project and the Hangang Project are of great significance in providing supplies to ships from East Africa to Asia.

The Colombo Port City Project is a large-scale Land Reclamation Project invested in and developed by China. It relied on Sri Lanka's Vision 2030 to become a developed country with high income and contributed a lot to the country's port construction and injected vitality into its economy. The local people, having enjoyed the improved well-being due to China's investment, are extraordinarily warm towards Chinese people.

Han Yulong said that talent with international vision, interdisciplinary knowledge and an adventurous spirit is in urgent need. Cui Yang saw the necessity to learn about financial knowledge and Gao Ning emphasized learning ability.
