Tianjin University’s Contribution to the Construction of the National Games Venues

On a recent exhibition held at Tianjin University Research Institute of Architectural Design and Urban Planning (AATU), “AATU and the Thirteenth National Games of China”, with the format of “4+1+8+10”, reflected the extensive contribution made by Tianjin University people to the national event.

When it comes to the “4+1+8+10”format, the number“4”represents the 4 most recently built venues, which are the stadiums at the Tianjin University of Technology, the Tianjin University of Commerce, the Tianjin University of Technology and Education and the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. “1”stands for the Tianjin Student Stadium, which has been the venue of both the National Games and the East Asian Games, and will once again serve the thirteenth National Games. All the five venues above were designed by the AATU and the Steel Structure Design Center. The Tianjin Steel Structure Technology Engineering Center has made a significant contribution such as providing technical support and consultant services to “8” existing venues. The last number '10' stands for the 10 classic sports buildings and national fitness venues accomplished by the AATU, including an important venue in Zhangjiakou for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
