On September 4 and 5, Zhong Denghua, President of Tianjin University (TJU), led a TJU delegation to visit France. The group visited the Education Office, Embassy of China in France, the headquarters of CTI, and the company, Syntec Numerique and met with representatives of Comité France Chine. During the meeting, discussions focused on deepening cooperation between TJU and circles of education and business in France, the development of a Chinese and French Engineer Education System, and promoting the quality of talent cultivation of the Tianjin University International Engineering Institute (TIEI).
On September 4, President Zhong visited the Education Office of the Chinese Embassy in France, and had a discussion with Yang Jin, education counselor, and Zou Runmin, first secretary. Education counselor Yang Jin indicated that full supports would be offered to the development of TIEI and the Institut Confucius Cote d’Azur. Discussions also focused on the reform of engineering education, and development of innovative engineering courses.
On the same day, the delegation from Tianjin University visited the headquarters of CTI. The delegation had discussions with Laurent Mahieu, President of CTI, Jean-Marc Theret, Vice President, and other representatives. President Zhong Denghua expressed his gratitude to CTI for providing TIEI the accreditation for the maximum accreditation period (6 years). He stated that Tianjin University would initiate plans for the future development of TIEI and was confident in making TIEI the best in China and influential in the world. President Laurent Mehieu indicated that CTI would pay close attention to the development of TIEI and strongly support and participate in the development of Tianjin University TIEI.
On September 4, Lin Bixi, Secretary General of the Comité France Chine, Cui Wen, a director, and other representatives visited the headquarters of CTI and had a meeting with the delegation from Tianjin University. President Zhong Denghua hoped that through the platforms of Comité France Chine, the communication and cooperation with French enterprises could be further strengthened in order to offer the students of TIEI more opportunities and choices of practicing and gaining internships in French companies. He also indicated that TIEI would be the bridge for the communication and cooperation between Chinese and French companies, and welcomed Comité France Chine to set up agencies in China, which could significantly promote cooperation.
On September 5, President Zhong led the delegation to Sopra Steria, which is famous in Europe. The delegation was welcomed by Director Jean Mounet, and Chairman Bouffard at Sopra Steria.
On the same day, the delegation from Tianjin University visited the Syntec Numerique. The President Godefroy and Executive President Laurent Baudart had a discussion with the delegation.
