Tianjin University and Qingdao City to Deepen Cooperation

Tianjin University's Vice President Yuan Yingjin, upon invitation, led a delegation to the China (Qingdao) International Ocean Science and Technology Exhibition 2017 held at Qingdao International Expo Center on September 12.

At the Qingdao Oceantec Valley Key Projects Signing Ceremony held during the exhibition, Vice President Yuan, on behalf of TJU, signed an agreement on building the Graduate School at Qingdao, Tianjin University with the Jimo City Government of Qingdao and delegates from Qingdao Oceantec Valley, and initiated the establishment of the first branch of TJU’s Graduate School.

After the ceremony, the delegation, Jimo Government and Qingdao Oceantec Valley officials held a symposium to discuss their future cooperation. Yuan said that TJU will continue to deepen the cooperation in a comprehensive and multilevel way and make full use of its resources in scientific research and skill cultivation to serve the development of local economy and social structures.

Zhang Jun, the Municipal Party Secretary of Jimo City, stated that he hoped TJU would, based on these advantages and aiming at regional economic and social demand, focus on key scientific research tasks such as the Smart Island construction and drive forward high-level talent cultivation with its prominent scientific research to facilitate their cooperation.

The Graduate School at Qingdao, Tianjin University was inaugurated after the symposium.
